SLABBER
DIRECTOR: Katie Pearl
PRODUCTION ROLE: Prop Master
PRODUCTION OVERVIEW: The Wesleyan Theater Department’s 2020 production of SLABBER made an effort to provide an intimate audience experience while being staged on a socially-distanced campus. Beginning at assigned locations with digital audio cues, attendees were led to the greenspace at the Center for the Arts, where groups of six sat in circles around a single performer, “Our Lady”. This central character told stories of a mysterious condition and opposing forces that cause conflict, making strong reference to the present day while presenting an original storytelling experience. As the coordinator for props in the show, I assembled the objects necessary for each “Our Lady” to perform the tale, and supervised cleaning procedures as the items moved between production members.
